Le Laos à la triste distinction d'être le pays le plus bombardé de l'histoire. Avec plusieurs millions de tonnes de bombes déversées sans scrupule par nos amis américains.Les mines y sont toujours meurtrières de nos jours.
Chaque année un million de touristes visitent maintenant le Laos. Son industrie touristique est encore artisanale et personne ne s'en plaindra. Oublié les McDonald et les 7 Eleven qui ont envahi les moindres racoins du globe. Ici le communisme modéré empêche la pénétration des puissants symboles du capitalisme, mais pour combien de temps encore?
Le Laos est le pays le moins peuplé d’Indochine, avec un peu plus de 6 millions d’habitants. Avec une vaste culture quasi intacte et des gens sans aucun stress, le Laos reste un pays mystérieux et mythique pour les voyageurs. Le pays se développe rapidement entrainant la disparition de certaine ethnies et certain terrain vierge. La vie dans les villages reste très simple et même sa capitale Ventiane n'échappe pas à cette règle. Il n'est pas rare de croiser un troupeau de buffles en plein milieu de la rue.
Il y a sans aucun doute un circuit touristique grandissant au Laos, mais aussi un milliard de sentiers sauvage à explorer. Vous avez d'ailleurs intérêt à vous sauver des forfaits organisés pour vivre la vraie aventure. Car les meilleurs souvenirs de voyage restent ceux que vous partagez avec les habitants. La fois où vous avez pris la mauvaise direction, assisté au mariage de la fille d'un restaurateur rencontré une journée auparavant ou la cuite à l'alcool local avec les anciens du village.
